Geo Sapiens II, The Fusion of Geology and ArtSeptember 3-27, 2010Two Wall Gallery, located on Vashon Island in downtown Vashon, WA, is holding its second annual Geo Sapiens Art show. Two Wall Gallery can be found close to the southeast corner of Vashon Highway SW and SW Bank Road in downtown Vashon. Look for the gallery just north of the Vashon Book Shop. Susan Judy collaborated with Neffra Matthews to design a unique piece combining both the textures of fabric and stone creating a quilt unlike any other. The design is of rock stratigraphy (layers) from the Mesozoic time period, depicting the geochronologically correct layers of rock through time. Side-by-side are the works of both artists - one in fabric, the other in stone. |
